Lord Bethell
Our ChampionsLord Bethell, 5th Baron Bethell, became a member of the House of Lords in July 2018, after successfully contesting a Conservative hereditary peers’ by-election. He has previously held Government positions including as Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department of Health and Social Care, and Government Whip (Lord in Waiting) from 2019-2020. He graduated from Edinburgh University, before working as a journalist and a director of several media companies, including the Ministry of Sound.
Allergies affect millions of people across the UK. Primary care services are in a state of critical emergency, and many of those with allergies could and should be diagnosed at a much earlier point in their medical journey. Prevention and early intervention are therefore crucial to the reform of services provided to those affected by allergic disease. I am pleased to be working with Allergy UK as one of their parliamentary champions to further raise this issue in the House of Lords.
