Patient Allergy Services

Allergy Focus, July 2024 Edition

Back to Allergy Focus

Welcome to this very exciting and informative edition of Allergy Focus from the national patient charity, Allergy UK.

It is packed with topical edits that are happening in allergy, from a new primary care proposed allergy framework to specialist allergy services. We also are showcasing our new Specialist Dietetic Advisor, Annette Weaver who has done a fantastic article on a subject called pollen food syndrome. It takes you on a journey of understanding from the symptoms it produces to the typical culprit pollens.

Don’t forget to visit our website to keep up with topical issues, currently we are highlighting the need to get people prescribed an adrenaline auto-injector and to remember to check them for expiry date and renew their prescriptions before expiry.

Allergy UK has been working in collaboration with Girlguiding London and Southeast England to launch the Allergy Aware badge, so we can empower the next generation of Allergy Allies, so if you have a child or grandchild at either Guides, Brownies, Rangers or Rainbows encourage them to get involved.

As always, we welcome your feedback as well as topics you would like us to cover in future editions of Allergy Focus. Thank you for reading this and I hope the information in this edition has provided an interesting read for you.

Warm regards,

Amena Warner
Head of Clinical Services, Allergy UK
